  • Brazil wants to accelerate the process of port leasing

The press office of the National Waterways Transportation Agency (Antaq) states that the regulatory agency presented, last March 2, to port authorities, a system that will streamline the port leasing processes. The meeting took place in the Agency’s headquarters in Brasilia.

"The system will be an essential and mandatory tool for the preparation, presentation and analysis of technical feasibility studies relating to projects for leasing specific port areas and facilities referred to the Agency by the port authorities," said the manager of Public Ports, Jair Galvão.

The Antaq specialist highlighted the systems’ benefits: "standardization of the preparation, presentation and analysis of technical feasibility studies; mandatory submission of data access, identification and easier consultation; and the possibility of filing the project design stages. The system still critiques the inconsistency and lack of essential data, besides eliminating the submission of several printed versions up to the approval of the study."
